Cuisine on Charlotte

A sidewalk eatery on the corner of Charlotte and Albert Streets. The brief asked for decorated columns, balustrading and a glass feature wall. Rather than dress up off-the-shelf columns, I redesigned and made them from scratch as load-bearing structure, so form and function carry equal weight.
The balustrade is cantilevered to emphasise tension and asymmetry, and doubles as extra seating for diners.
