Imagined histories
Every apparatus comes with a history that never happened, written for the place it stands.
Each of these works arrives with a past it never had: an inventor, a lost machine, a discovery in a farm shed or under a signal box.
The stories start from the real history of the town they stand in. The legend draws people in; the machine rewards them for looking closer. On each page you can read the legend, then see what is really there and how it was built.
