FLOW
Public Art · Emporio, Maroochydore
FLOW is a dynamic kinetic sculpture designed for the Emporio precinct, acting as a vibrant and ever-changing seasonal marker.
Inspired by Kabi Kabi culture, FLOW integrates dynamic imagery from a painting by Lyndon Davis. It references the Batwing Coral tree as a seasonal indicator for mud crabs, embodying the cyclical relationship between nature and people.
FLOW transforms with changing colours and light, reflecting the seasons.
The people-activated fins create moving light and shadow patterns.
FLOW playfully embodies the movement and transformation of Emporio, offering an engaging and interactive celebration of the environment and Kabi Kabi heritage.
